Natsource has arranged a significant number of transactions in European GHG markets. Initiated in 2002, the UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS) is currently the longest-running national GHG trading program.  Natsource arranged the first trade in the UK ETS and continues to play an active role in this market, arranging a large portion of transactions.

Natsource has also assisted its clients to prepare for the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) which became operational on 1 January 2005.  We have been active in the forward traded and spot EU allowance markets which have developed over the last year. We specialise in providing step by step advice and guidance for industrial clients, allowing them to confidently and simply trade in the allowance market.

Natsource is a pioneer in transactions of credits under the Kyoto Markets. In 2004 we arranged 10 million tonnes in transactions of candidate CERs to European and Japanese buyers. Within Europe the Linking Directive opens up some excellent opportunities for companies affected by the EU ETS to take advantage of these Kyoto mechanisms to potentially lower the cost of their ETS compliance demands. Natsource enjoys an incomparable position in the marketplace to source these reductions on clients’ behalf.
