Phone: +44-207-827-2411Martin Collins, Managing Director (London), leads a team that originates and structures transactions for GHG reductions and allowances, RECs and renewable obligation certificates (ROCs).
Mr. Collins’ primary responsibilities are structuring innovative deals, in both the GHG and renewables markets, which add value for the participants and are transactable in today’s emerging markets; and assuring that deal structures comport with the evolving policies that govern these markets.
He brokered the first UK Allowance transaction in September 2001, as well as the first swap of compliance instruments between the UK and Denmark emissions trading systems. He has structured transactions in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme and the Kyoto-related CDM market in addition to the UK ROCs market and the Dutch RECs market.
Mr. Collins has significant knowledge of policies governing the EU emissions trading market, its interaction with the Kyoto Protocol mechanisms and the commercial instruments utilized in the market (contract structures, risk management arrangements and delivery mechanisms).
Mr. Collins also has international transactional experience from other markets. Prior to joining Natsource in 2001, Martin was Managing Director and CEO of Tullett Futures Asia, and has been located in Tullett’s London, Tokyo and Singapore offices. MR. Collins has a BSc in politics from Southampton College.
