mwilliamson@natsource.comMatt Williamson, Director of Renewable Energy (New York), currently leads the renewable energy team of Natsource’s transaction services desk, arranging transactions for renewable power and renewable energy certificates, including RECs eligible for use against state-level renewable portfolio standards, and transactions of voluntary products. In addition to arranging transactions of more standardized REC products, Mr. Williamson leads Natsource’s efforts to close term renewable power purchase agreements and other structured transactions including transfers of renewable generation assets. Prior to joining Natsource, he worked for the Office of Air and Radiation at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC. While with OAR’s Climate Protection Division, Mr. Williamson developed voluntary partnership programs with major U.S. companies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance energy efficiency. Following these successful initiatives, he joined the OAR’s Clean Air Markets Division to pursue a collaborative effort with the Chinese State Environmental Protection Administration to investigate the potential of cap and trade systems to address China’s acid rain problems.
Mr. Williamson holds a BA from Princeton University, a Masters degree in International Affairs from Columbia University where he focused on environmental policy, and an M.B.A. from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
