As deregulation and the end of long-term supply contracts increase volatility in the coal trade, Natsource, a pioneer in the business of coal hedging, continues to help utilities, marketers and producers develop products to better manage their risk. Natsource is the coal brokerage leader with millions of tons of coal traded to date, including physical transactions as well as derivatives such as swaps, options and forwards for coal and coke produced abroad and domestically.

The coal industry is at a point of radical change and growth. The use of new and changing risk management tools will grow dramatically as coal catches up with other energy industries. NYMEX's emerging coal futures market will clearly spur additional growth. As the leader in the industry, Natsource is committed to guiding clients through this emerging market so they can take advantage of the many new opportunities it offers. Our guidance not only entails giving clients superior assistance on every transaction, but also educating our clients on all the changes, so they have an edge in a changing market.

As in other energy transactions, Natsource acts as a matchmaker, not as a principal in the coal market. The customer can be confident that they are always seeing the best market pricing available, without bias. We match the appropriate buyer and seller, disclosing the identities of both parties only after they agree to terms. All terms and conditions of transactions are kept strictly confidential.

After written confirmations are faxed to both buyer and seller, the parties contact each other to put a written contract into place. Only after the parties have confirmed credit worthiness and agreed upon contract terms and conditions is the deal completed.

Our focus as an institutional broker allows us to provide the pricing information and expertise in execution to meet your hedging needs. As a pioneer and leader, we are in a position to help you to take advantage of all the new opportunities in the growing coal market.
