Natsource Prepares Technical Report on Key Issues in REDD for Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)

16 July 2009 — This week, the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) released a technical report, "Key Issues in Designing Mechanisms to Reduce GHG Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD)."

The report provides a comprehensive understanding of the potentially important role that GHG emissions offsets derived from REDD-based activities may play in helping to mitigate global climate change and reducing the costs of complying with future requirements to reduce GHG emissions that contribute to global climate change.

Natsource served as Principal Investigator on this project and prepared the report on behalf of EPRI.  The report builds upon Natsource's work with EPRI on a series of workshops sponsored by EPRI in 2008 and 2009 focused on the design of a carbon offset program that could be incorporated into a U.S. cap and trade program.
