Natsource prepares paper, "Improving the Project-Based Mechanisms to Achieve Long-Term Climate Protection" for IETA

3 December 2008 — Natsource prepared the paper "Improving the Project-Based Mechanisms to Achieve Long-Term Climate Protection" (and its associated Executive Summary) for the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA). The paper considers ways in which the project-based mechanisms -- particularly the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)-- could be restructured to reduce barriers to investment and stimulate greater emission reductions while addressing environmental risk.  It describes different approaches including sectoral and policy-based or programmatic approaches to achieve those objectives.

Executive Summary Attached.
